IR3535® - 驅蟲劑

昆蟲會對人類和動物造成問題甚至帶來威脅。 除了由各種類昆蟲所引起的環境損害, 例如整個收成受到破壞, 人類和許多動物都被不同昆蟲以某些方式所打擾。這會導致危險病原的感染和傳播。為保護人類免受節肢動物的威脅, 一般偏好使用的"武器"是名為驅蟲劑的化學物質。 自1970年代開始, Merck就已經開始提供IR3535®驅蟲劑。

趨蟲劑功用為何?

驅蟲劑是一種讓節肢動物接近它的目標來轉移接近宿主(飛行)路徑的物質。和殺蟲劑相較之下, 驅蟲劑並無殺害作用。目前已證明不同機制對節肢動物的嗅覺末端會產生作用, 主要可能是由不同化學受器總數而有所區別。化學結構與驅除機制的關聯性多數尚無法解釋, 因為不同的驅除昆蟲藥劑完全分屬不同物質類別。

對抗這些扮演傳染病載體的主要武器就是殺蟲劑。但是使用和毒性概況卻經常令人難以處理。Extreme measures, such as insecticides, are not always necessary for the prevention of direct action from insects.Today especially, where environmental protection has been recognized as a vital factor, preventive measures are becoming more important.Therefore, in the fight against insects, defensive measures are preferred over insecticides.These so-called "repellents" only have the purpose of stopping the insect from landing on a host, and hence from causing harm.
